New Delhi: The Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday reported a marginal increase of 0.4% in its domestic sales at 144,219 units in November.

The company had sold 143,686 units in the domestic market in November last year, MSI said in a statement.

Sales of mini cars comprising Alto and S-Presso stood at 22,339 units as compared to 26,306 units in the same month last year, down by 15.1%.

Sales of compact car segment, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, declined by 1.8% to 76,630 units as against 78,013 cars in November last year.

Mid-sized sedan Ciaz sales, however, grew by 29.1% to 1,870 units as compared to 1,448 units in November last year.

Sales of utility vehicles, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, increased 2.4% to 23,753 units as compared to 23,204 in the year-ago month, MSI said.

"All manufacturing, sales and service operations continue to take place fully consistent with all safety requirements for employees and customers," the company added.

During the month under review, Maruti Suzuki reported 1.7% increase in total sales at 153,223 units as compared to 150,630 units in the same month year ago.

The company closed the April-November period with total sales of 805,400 units, a decline of 22.9% over the same period of the 2019-20 fiscal, it added.
