NEW DELHI: Home-grown automaker, Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday reported a 22.54 per cent rise in production at 33,888 units in December 2019. The company had manufactured 27,653 units during the same period a year ago, informed a regulatory filing by Mahindra & Mahindra.

Mahindra & Mahindra passenger vehicles' production stood at 15,282 units in the month of December 2019 as against 12,333 units in December 2018, up by 23.91 per cent.

While Mahindra & Mahindra's commercial vehicles' production last month stood at 18,606 units as against 15320 units in December 2018, up by 21.44 per cent, it added.

Interestingly, the company’s electric arm, Mahindra Electric produced only 57 vehicles in the month of December 2019.

Mahindra & Mahindra sold 37,081 units of vehicles in the domestic market, up 1 per cent compared to the same month in 2018 when it recorded 36,690 units.

The passenger vehicle segment of the company has recorded 4 per cent growth with 15,691 units sold last month, compared to 15,091 units registered in December 2018.

In the commercial vehicles segment, Mahindra has sold 16,018 vehicles in December 2019, as against 16,906 vehicles in December 2018.

Exports for the automaker has seen a drop of 30 per cent last month with 2,149 units, compared to 3,065 units shipped in the same month last fiscal.
